Bad shortcut icons

Owen

The shortcut icons for my MSOffice suite (word, excel,
ppoint, access) as well as adobe acrobat display as
generic icons instead of the specific ones (the blue "W"
for word, the green "X" for excel, etc.) Also, the
documents themselves (like .doc or .xls files) have
generic icons too. The "change icon" button is greyed out
in properties.

I've tried deleting the IconCache.db file and restarting,
and changing the screen resolution and color quality in
display settings. Neither has changed anything.

Please advise.

For what you say, appears that office has been uninstalled... check if the
program files of Word and Excel are still in their respective folder under
Program Files\Microsoft Office... If not there, you need to reinstall them.

Thanks for the reply.

Nope, office is still installed properly. Everything runs
fine, it's just the shortcuts that are screwy.

Any other ideas?
