Backup on XP (qic file) to Vista

Try to make a long story short. 6 year old laptop running XP SP2 finally bit
the dust. Have laptop backup on network drive (1 large .qic file) using
"Backup my PC" version 5. Need new laptop. All come with Vista. "Backup my
PC" doesn't have Vista version yet. Is there anything out there that will
take the qic file from my network drive and restore to a new Vista laptop?

If you cannot install the software you have on your Vista machine...
aska friend of yours who still uses XP if you can temporarily install it on
their machine...
restore the backup to a folder...then burn to DVD etc

Have you tried Vistas backup/restore program? If I recall correctly qic
files are a pretty standard backup file across many backup programs.

Hope this helps

The Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite contains BackUp My PC and runs on
Vista according to the Roxio web site.
