Backing up Registry

I get this error on my System state backup, and because
of it my backups are flagged 'Failed'

Directory not found. Can not backup directory
\Registry\C:\WINNT\system32\config\systemprofile and its
subdirectories.

I am using Backup exec 8.5 on a 2003 server. The weird
thing is that the systemprofile directory is there and i
only started getting this System state backup error when
i upgraded to 2003 from 2000 server.

Whats going on.?

When backing up the System State of a Windows 2000 system, Backup Exec is
not expecting to find any user defined directories in the \config directory,
as this is a system folder. Backup Exec will detect these "extra"
directories and, since they are not part of the system settings or registry
settings, the error is produced

In your case, the systemprofile dir is a valid system directory in 2003, but
was not in 2000. The issue here is that your version of Backup Exec doesn't
recognize this folder as a system folder, therefore it posts the error that
we would expect when a user defined dir is in the config directory.

You need to check with Veritas to see which version of Backup Exec is
compatible with 2003 or obtain an update for your current version.
