Backing Up Outlook Express Folders

L

Lewanna

I have tried the "file, compact folders" method described
in the help section. I then try to find the compacted
files in order to back them up onto a cd-rw, but the
search results (generic and .dbx)are always negative.

Does anyone know a way to back up the file folders and
address book on Outlook Express other than the old copy
and paste method?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Doug Knox, MS-MVP:
After having read your post, below, I did try
this 'Backup' program for O.E. However, I got the
following problem that I posted here, N.G. afterwards;
----------------------------------------------------
Hi:
I have been trying to delete some of file, ... however
for some reason, when I put my mouse on the item to
delete, starting 'copying' instead of deleting. Then,
there are many, many copying, even 20-30 copies of the
same file. This is OUTRAGEOUS for me to delete the same
items, like 'copy, copy (20) the same item.' Altogether,
there are hundreds of copies already in C:/.

I just wonder why does this happen, multipying copies?
Normally, when I attempt to delete the item, NEVER does
this 'copying,' just simply delete and goes to 'Recycling
Bin.' Did I do something wrong with this 'Backup'?

BTW, this happened after 'back-up' on 'Outlook Express.'
(I back-up 'Outlook Express' on C:/Backup O.E.)

This multiplying copies happening just this, C:/Backup
O.E., otherwise, there is NO problem to delete other
areas, such as 'Document and Setting'/Word.

Thanks your help in advance.

Annie,

If you think this problem is related to the backup program for OE, then you
should contact its authors for assistance. Other than that, I don't know of
any issues with that program, and the behavior you're describing.
