Backgrounds in EXCEL

I have a worksheet with a "CONFIDENTIAL" watermark that
appears diagonally when printed and can be viewed in
Print Preview. I know there are several standard words
that can be inserted in this manner. How can I remove it?
many thanks

thanks for the help.
The problem was that someone had inserted a
semitransparent wordart. It was not actually a watermark
so it didn't respond to "background" selections.
Clever idea. I intend to use it in the future. It's
more versatile than a true watermark.
thanks again for the help.

Hi JR,

Right click on the watermark and click CUT.

If you have way too many to do this on a practical basis you may be able to
use code to remove them. If using code you will need to know the name of
each watermark, perhaps they are all named the same. I have some code that
makes watermarks floating about out there and if your marks are named Mud
then it may have been that code that made the marks, long shot though. I
have a short macro that will blast them off if named Mud. To find the name,
right click the mark and look in the name box.

Howard
