Background Pictures

When I open "Display Properties/Background", the Wallpaper list includes the
pictures in "My Picture" folder. Why is this occuring and how can I disable
this function?

That's the way it's designed. To keep pictures from displaying in the
wallpaper list, create a sub-folder of "My Pictures" and move the ones you
don't want displayed to it.

The trouble is getting that folder to be the default folder that IE uses
when saving images off the net. We save images without really doing any
more than "saving" and they end up in My Pictures and is really why this
design sorta sucks.

You're right, but i don't think there's any way around it. Even if you
never use "My Pictures", you can't delete it. Well, you _can_ delete it,
but IE will just create a new one.

I know. I fought with this since February 1, 1999. Didn't like it then
don't like it now. But whenever I bring up Properties | Display I just
shield myself from Select a background picture or HTML document as
Wallpaper. I don't really like Wallpaper so it's not hard to do.

You have to leave My Pictures and in the Registry set IE to save by default
to the folder made that you suggested. It works for a bit but will
ultimately relapse.
