AVG vs Trend Housecall - One finds a virus the other doesn't - help

FWIW; I have AVG Free Edition (latest version and updates), which is
new. It finds two instances of something called java/byteverify.

I hit Trendmicro housecall, to see what it would say and I'm suprised
to see it didn't find anything.

Google tells me this is an IE exploit and there is a Microsoft patch
for this. It be new. I'm about to try to remove this little beasty.

This is the first virus I've found on any of my systems in
_years_. The only thing I use MSIE for is to hit
update.microsoft.com. I keep my systems patched and I don't browse
lots of crappy sites that tend to have viruses, and I don't run email
on this machine.

Clean out your java cache.
There is a update for java from sun.

AVG's my scanner on the machine in question. I like Housecall as a backup.

I ran AVG for a while. It would find a particular file contained a virus.
The file didn't, that file was so old it pre-dated virus infections, part of
logitech programmers development kit for dos.
I now use avast, more satisfactory all around, although I didn't swithc
because of that problem..
