AVG Resident Shield Question

I am running AVG on a Win XP SP-1 E-Machine notebook.
I cannot get AVG to stay in Resident Shield mode. Every time
I reboot I have to enter the program and reselect Resident Shield.
I have clicked apply and saved parameters in the Control Center
but I still lose Resident Shield on reboot.

I would just uninstall/reinstall in the first instance. See if that fixes
it.
