I wonder if someone could answer a question which Grisoft are not prepared
to: I am getting AVG Resident Shield multiple pop-ups telling me I have a
trojan back door virus and I need to run AVG for windows. I have done this
and no viruses were identified. However the pop-ups keep appearing. How do I
get rid of these?

Thanks in advance for the help.

at a guess, the resident shield is alerting on contents of the system
restore which the on-demand scanner cannot access by default...

try purging your restore points and see if the real-time alerts stop...

I had the same trouble getting Fortnight virus off my PC. AVG didn't find
any virus, but every time I clicked on 'Sent Items' I would get the black
out stating I could be infected. I finally got rid of it by going to the
start button and find, files and folders. I typed in Sent Items, and there
were 3. I deleted them and that did the trick.....Nel
