Avenue A, Inc

Hi,

Have two computers, so I'm pretty sure this is a
virus/worm/adware leftover. My firewall on XP Pro is
sporadically but constantly catching Avenue A, Inc.
download attempts (SyGate Personal).
The same thing is NOT happening on my laptop, but
.... it's using e-trust, so ???. I have watched the
logs, etc. though, and the laptop never sees anything
from Avenue A.

Is this a known problem?
I did have a browser hijack attempt on both machines,
not simultaneously, but a few hours apart, last week.
Intermixed with that were several Avenue "catches".

XP Pro, Adaware, Spybut, SpywareGuard, Norton, etc, all
updated at least every two days, usually daily, fully
updated XP & Office.

No signs of anything except: Spybot seems to report my
own change back to the IE Blank:about as another
attempt to hijack, since that attempted hijacking,
which URL I did not keep.

Comments? Be polite, please; if I'm dumb, just say so
and go your way.

I have a setup like yours but use avast instead of norton and mozilla
instead of IE6 + OE and have had no problems
