AV recommendation

Hello,
I am working on a friend's computer that has
Windows 2000 SERVER installed. It is standalone.
He needs AV on it obviously, but is balking at the
high cost of Mcafee's, Norton's, etc versions that
work on server. He is looking for a recommendation
for a good, cheap AV solution that works on 2000 server.
Anybody have one?
Thanks in advance,
Kelly

any av does the trick, as for the price, you will pay full price if you buy
it in stores. u can also get a good av on the net but you wil have a 30 day
trial, but always crakable if you look in astalavista crack search engine
and will be yours for free. if you are not familiar on how to crack a
program or look after a serial ill help you out
cheers

Kelly,

Some time ago I found copies of Norton Antivirus 2003 on the web for less
than $20, including a full year of updates. I think I used Froogle to find
them.

I figure that after the software updates and latest virus definitions are
applied, you've got something that's not too out of date. I have been doing
this instead of renewing the NAV subscription with Symantec.

This isn't a Norton recommendation, but I already had SystemWorks 2002, and
just wanted to plug in newer AV. You might be able to do the same thing
with the server versions and/or other vendors' products. Symantec Corporate
AV version 8.x (supports servers) has been replaced with 9.x so some of the
older ones might be available at a good price.

As I recall, NAV won't install on a server. Does your friend *really* need
the server version? I think Microsoft licenses always allow you to run an
earlier or lower version of the software, so he could probably legally
install Win2K Workstation instead.
