Automation server can't create object

Guest

Recently, I noticed that when I try to use "View the status of my system
hardware and software" or "Find information about the hardware installed on
this computer", the progress bar stops and "Automation server can't create
object" appears above the bar. I have no idea how long this problem may have
existed.

I also noticed that when I scan using "Network Diagnostics", the scan hangs
at 99% while "formatting results".

Any ideas?

Hi RJB,

Type in Start, Run:

regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 scrrun.dll

YES! Thanks again. I do have another problem though with the Network
Diagnostics. Please see my post "Unable to connect to WMI service
'\root\cimv2'"

Cool!

For the 2nd problem, the WMIDiag.vbs tool might be your ticket.

The WMI Diagnosis Utility (wmidiag.vbs):

Hello Ramesh I just wanted to also thank you "BIG TIME" as your information
also solved a nightmare I've been attempting to fix for so long now and
funnily enough I "just stumbled" onto this part of the site.

I have 1 question that I'd like to ask, that's if it's okay to put here. I'm
logged on as Computer Administrator but everytime I try and download
something that requires Administrator permission I receive the message that
"You're not the adminstator, log off and allow them to download". I don't
know how to fix it as I've checked my details and it definately shows me as
the Administrator plus it accepts my "sign in" when starting up the computer.

Do you or anybody else have any ideas also if I'm not supposed to be asking
this question here could you please point me in the right direction as I'm
absolutely useless with computers!

Thanks again
