Automating a template or document

I have a template in which, when it’s opened, a pop up box appears and
prompts you to enter Client Name, you enter the information, click OK and
then another box prompts you for Quote Number and so on.
My question is, how is this done and how can I set this process up in a new
template I am preparing? I have tried to take the old template apart to find
out but cannot find how it was set up originally. I'm using Word 2007.

It probably uses ASK fields (press ALT+F9 to view) - but by far the more
elegant way to do this would be to create a userform to gather the
information required and apply it to the document - For the basics, see Word
