Fill-in field in a template

I have created a template with fill-in fields. When I create a document from
the template, the document text does not appear, but the fill-in field
prompts do. The only way that I can at present get around this is to cancel
each prompt box as it appears. Then the document text appears and it is
possible to select all text and use F9 to update the fields. I would like
the document text to appear immediately when I create the document from the
template instead of first having to cancel all the prompts.

Thanks for the help. The template is a regular Word document, not a form.
The template is not attached to a database. It is a standardized letter with
fields forunique information that have to be updated when the template is
used.

I think Doug was suggesting that a protected form might serve your purposes
better. Alternatively, you might use a UserForm; see
