Hi,

I have tried 'unsuccessfully' for the past hour to get this site to remember
my log-in information but so far I am falling flat on my face. This is the
only forum where I have this problem of saving my log-in information so that
I am logged in automatically.

I am checking the box to have the site remember my Email Address and
Password too.

I even went to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced > and allowed
First Party cookies, but I still am coming up empty. Any ideas or
suggestions?

Thanks and regards,

You can access "this site" using Outlook express and you don't need to
login at all!

How are you trying to access this site?

Yes stop using Internet Explorer and use Outlook Express to see and post in
these newsgroups.
Your ISP provider most likely provides this service for free.........under
Tools/Accounts/News.........usually news.ISPname.net or com or??
if not you can create a new NEWS account by clicking add.....fill in the
appropriate blanks and enter news.microsoft.com as the news server.
Then download the news groups and pick the ones you wish to sunscibe to.

The problems you are having are because you are trying to access these
newsgroups from the web interface, which is awful. Here is information
to help you:

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup and not a "website" or "forum". You will get far
more out of this resource if you learn to use a newsreader. There are
many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use Outlook Express
since you already have it. Here are some links to information about
newsgroups:

How can I use Outlook to post here? As I can recall, outlook does not offer
support for "Free Hotmail acconts." Any pointers?

R

Roberto

I use both, just setup Outlook Express as your news reader and have
Hotmail in your favourities folder, better yet, use Outlook as your
email reader too.

Tools/Accounts. News. Add/News. Do the obvious until you get to the
server name, for which you want "msnews.microsoft.com".

If you're not broadband, don't take a full selection. Even if you are
broadband don't take a full selection. Be choosy.

What part of "Outlook does not manage 'Free Hotmail Accouns'" did you not
get? Outlook, does not allow users to use it, if they use it with a 'Free
Hotmail Account'

Outlook uses Outlook Express as its newsreader. Just skip the Outlook part
and open OE.
