automatic windows update

C. M. G.

In win xp pro:

I have windows automatic updating enabled, but I use a dial up ISP, and if
I am not on line, wupdmgr.exe will not dial up. In IE connections, I have
selected "always dial my default connection."

How do I make wupdmgr.exe go on line automatically?

Thanks,

Clem.

i don't think you can make it dial each time.

windows actually checks windows update every now and then and then download
an update if it finds one there. if not, it does nothing.

however, i don't think you would like windows to dialup every now and then
and end up without any updates to download later.

on the other hand, microsoft has started to release updates every 10th of
every month except for patches that are critical in nature that can't wait
for the 10th of the month.

i hope this helps.

I installed an uninstaller but it didn't work. Any help appreciated. I
really don't like having it sit there at the bottom of my screen. It might
rush off and put some more stuff on my system that I don't need. Any help
much appreciated. Andy
