Automatic Updates

I have Automatic Updates set to download automatically and install at a
specified time. When I check the Windows Update site, I see that I have a
high prioirty update (Windows Genuine Advantage Notification KB905474) that
has neither been downloaded or installed.

I've noticed that when I restart my computer, the update icon will briefly
flash in the system tray but then disappears. Is it that I haven't been qued
for the update as of yet, or is their problem with my system updating
automatically?

Thnx for the link...it still did not work. The update icon briefly flashes
in the system stay when I restart the computer, but then it quickly
disappears again.

Try turning Automatic Updates off, you can do this by selecting the Windows
Control Panel then click on the Automatic Updates Icon. Then reboot and go
to the update site:
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
and see if you can manually (use the Custom option) select and install the
update.

JS,

I can manually download and install the update from the windows or microsoft
update site with no problem...I'm trying to find out what's preventing the
automatic download from occurring. Thnx anyway.
