Automate Reply on saving message to folder

I am trying to automate sending reply message containing a standard text to
the original sender once the message is saved in or dragged to a specific
public or personal folder. I thought I could set up a rule in Outlook 2003,
but the available options do not work. I would be grateful for any
suggestions.

With Public Folders you can use the Folder Assistant (in the folder
properties property pages) to do exactly what you describe. For personal
folders you would need to write some VBA that traps the folder's ItemAdd
event.
