auto user logon - how to change or delete

L

L Friket

I gave my pc to my daughter for Christmas after buying a
new one.

Before giving it to her, I create a new user accoung with
her name, "Joan" which has full admin rights. My
account had been the only one on the machine, so I
deleted mine after taking all of my files off the
computer.

Now when Joan starts the pc, it always comes up with a
message box that says "can't log this user in" or
something like that and shows my user name.

Even thought I deleted my user account, the computer must
always have logged in at start up under that name or
something.

How can I change that, or delete it so that she doesn't
have to get this message box all the time (which delays
the starting of the machine).

Thank you for any help you can provide me.

Hi L,

The easiest way to accomplish this is by going to
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp and
dowloading TweakUI.
When you run tweakui, click on the Logon option and set the account you
would like to autologon.

Hope this helps!
Thx,
