auto shutdown

Upon installing Windows XP on an older DELL Optplex PC
the auto shutdown function no longer works. It goes to a
screen that says it is safe to shutdown your computer and
has to be shut off manually. Is this a settings issue in
the contol panel. Auto shutdown worked with the previous
OS (Windows 98).

chance to try any of the solutions yet but at least I

The enabling of APM fixed the power down issue. Thanks
