Hi,

Each time I sent an email, a file will be automatically
attached without my knowledge!! How do I solve this?
Thanks a million!

Do you have a vcard signature going out with each message? What is the name
of the file?

Cheers

what is the file? Which version of Outlook and do you use word as the
editor?

If it's an HTML file and you use Word, it's probably a header or footer
configured in Word.

Can you state the exact names of some of the attachments?

I'd run adware and AV scans to insure the system isn't infected or has less
than desirable software (like hotbar) installed.

The recent files attached were:-
pic26299.pcx
pic05829.pcx
pic31673.pcx

In your second message you said the attachment was "always a .gif". PCX and
GIF are very different file types. PCX files are PaintBrush-native files.

The first thing I would do would be to add PCX files to the Level1 settings.
The next thing I'd do is see if I had any Outlook add-ins that might be
working behind my back. After that, I'd download and install Ad-Aware and
Spybot Search and Destroy to check for adware. Your Norton AV doesn't do
that.

Can you enlighten me on how to add PCX files to the Lever
1 settings and also on the steps to check whatever add-
ins that might be working behind my back? I am totally
blank in this area. Thanks!

If you add pcx's to level1, you will be prevented from opening them. But
this isn't your problem - you said they are getting attached to messages and
adding them to level1 will not prevent that.

Are you using stationery? A free mail account that adds advertising?

Won't it block the attachment?

Block = cannot access, cannot save, cannot open. It does not prevent the
attachment from being added or prevent it from being sent. The dialog is
worded poorly and seems to say blocked attachments won't be sent, but they
are sent with the message.
