audio/video out of sync

The audio to my video track is totally cutting out or getting out of sync when I play the clips on the timeline. The first couple of clips are usually ok but after that the everything loses its synchrony. The sound bars are still below the corresponding video track but the sound isn't playing. I'm not importing separate audio, adding transitions, effects or anything. The video and audio work fine when each clip is played individually from the collections window. But they get messed up in the timeline and when I try to compress any video clips. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Did you received any feedback on your question as I am experiencing the same problem. The movie is saved on a peg file and palys 100 % correct on my computer, but as soon as I cut a vcd I pick up the problem of the sound delay.
