Audacity

If anyone is looking for a freeware cross platform audio editor I think that
Audacity is the best that I have ever found.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/nyone

It edits Wave and MP3 (with a free plugin for output to MP3 format) and it
is just as easy to use as the one in Nero Burning if not easier.

The mp3 export pluging doesn't give much options for the lame encoder
which suck.

Just pointing out that neither it nor any other editor like it edits MP3s
directly. The MP3s are decoded to wave, you edit the wave, it re-encodes
the wave to MP3.
