Attachments

Friend (XP user) has problems opening attachments (all attachments) through Hotmail, problem also exists when she sends attacments, reciever gets message informing her of wrong file extension, similar message occcurs when friend tries to open attachments. Although when sending files through Messenger there is no problem.
She does not use Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook although she does have the capability to use Outlook Express.

Just a guess, but I seem to recall reading that some of the popular
email services are starting to require that attachments be sent in a
..zip file. I guess you could read the hotmail docs. I think this may be
in response to fighting virus infestations. Again, just a guess.



Although when sending files through Messenger there is no problem.
