Attachments opening up in body of emails - need to turn off

I am using Windows Vista Mail in the Vista Premium Home Version, 2007,
Service Pack 2.

Recently, I attached some reduced size photos (about 60kb each) to an email.
When I sent the email, they remained attached but also, they opened up for
viewing in the body of the email, making the email HUGE in size.

I have searched for ways to turn this feature off, so that the attached
photos do not open and show up in the body of the email, but without any
luck. Therefore, currently I cannot turn this feature off.

I only want photos to be attached, NOT OPEN UP to be viewed in the body of
the email. Does anybody know how to change the setting in my Windows Mail
so that the attachments will NOT open up?

Thanks

Technically, the attachments do NOT "open up in the body of emails."
They're displayed in a separate section below the message body as a
convenience to the user.

Whether or not attached images open in the body of the email is not
under the sender's control. It is a function of the receiving mail client.

Hey there,

I haven't had a problem with attaching photos and I do like that they show
up in the body of the email. Until recently...The jpegs I'm attaching look
good in my workspace (Bridge, Photoshop) but when they appear in the body of
my messages, they have a grayish blue cast to them. This is NOT in the
original jpegs (or the RAW file I start with). When I go to my "sent" folder
and open the attached photos in PS or even Windows Gallery, the photos are
fine. Most people won't go that extra step to just open the files (elderly
grandparents) and I don't want them to see sickly looking people in the
photos I send. Any idea why this has just started happening?

Thanks,
K
