P.s.: I did try to untick as explained by Spikey (Tools - options - Security
tab
Under the virus Protection heading - untick do not allow attachments etc)
and this didn't change anything.
And it is e-mails I send from my old pc with Microsoft Outlook to my new pc
with Windows e-mail (Vista). I have tried to send attachments from my
gmail-account - and they arrived safely!
The basic problem is that Outlook, by default, uses a proprietary
form of encoding for attachments, which is not readable by
non-Outlook mail clients.
The Outlook sender needs to resend using either plain text (preferred)
or standard HTML format. For more on this issue see: http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips/qt/et121705.htm
Only send emails to yourself using Outlook's Plain Text formatting,
especially if there's an attachment.
