I'm using Ati Radeon 9550 agp 8x and Window Vista home premium. Is CCC.exe
suppose to start when i turn on my computer? i just notice in task manager
that CCC.exe is not starting at all when i turn on my computer but when i
open ati control panel CCC.exe is showing in the task manager. is it normal
for CCC.exe to not start? If this is a problem then how do i fix it?

GT,

Catalyst Control Center (CCC) only runs when you launch it. You use it only
to configure your ATI graphics card, then put it away until the next time you
need to make changes.

GT,

Well, I just checked my Task Manager, and CCC.exe it in fact running in the
background. I take back my earlier comments about this. I've not paid any
attention to this fact until you asked about it, and not ever noticed it
before.

I have no idea why your CCC.exe is not running in the background. Try
reinstalling the drivers for it to check whether that corrects the problem.

GT,

Well, you've got me curious, and I've done some looking around in my system
to see from where CCC.exe is launched. Mine is listed in msconfig.exe (Start
All Programs > Administrative Tools > System Configuration, Startup tab.
There, CCC is listed to start when you boot. If it's unchecked, it won't
start, or if it's not listed, then that's why your CCC.exe is not running.
Also, if you have Windows Defender installed, I think that feature can also
prevent "startup" applications from running. Just some ideas to check. Let
us know whether you find something.

do you by chance have a pair of little arrows beside the notification area.
this would indicate the icon is hidden.
to unhide it the option is under Start Orb right click Properties
