ATI all in wonder+higher channels

Hi all,
I'm NOT looking to steal cable! but what I'd like to do is receive the
higher channel numbers that I PAY for with my AIW 7500 64 meg card....is
there any software out there to make this possible? I currently have the
Scientific Atlanta 3100's on the 2 TV's we have in the house, but I'd like
to use the TiVo like function of the AIW to record shows I'm not here for on
the higher channels...without having to pay rent on yet another cable box..I
don't care about the pay per view or anything that I'm not paying
for......just to be able to receive the channels I DO pay for....but have
them on my PC..currently I can only go to like 102 or so.....but I PAY for
channels up to like 250........it may be a stupid question, (someone in the
past acted like it was a dumb question.....but the only dumb question, in my
opinion, is the one you don't ask.......so smartass comments will be
ignored) but any help or explanations of what it would take, or why it
can't be done would be greatly appreciated! I'm not a "spert" in this area
so that is why the question.....Hell, if I was, I wouldn't need to
ask.....would I? I have had ATI AIW cards since the 4 meg PCI days, they are
to me one of the best cards on the market. I just wish I could buy the
latest and greatest....but alas, budget does not permit it. When the AIW
Radeon first came out I did get one, but it was paid for by the
company.....no such luxury now...:-( damn thing was $329.00 then at
CompUSA......Ahhhhh the good old days!! Anyway, as I said, all info, would
be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

No, the AIW can only tune regular cable channels (CATV). If you need a
converter box for your cable, you probably have Digital Cable (or, the Cable
Co. is sending the regular cable channels over Digital anyway).

There are no tuners that can tune in the digital signals (except the ones in
the converter boxes). That's why your TVs (that probably has a cable tuner
similar to the AIW) also need the converter box.

The only thing you can do is send the signal from a converter box to your
AiW. You can use a splitter to send the output from your box to your TV and
your AiW, and then you can watch the same program on both your PC and your
TV at the same time, but there aren't any better setups.
