I have checked my cables. I had roxio and symantec at diff intervals. But
they have been removed sometime ago.

Sounds like your CD-ROM/DVD player/writer is having problems reading. Does
this happen with a specific disc in the drive or all the time?

No disc in the drive. Also I have no problems reading discs.
