Asus A7N8X-E and 2nd Serial Port

I have a need to use 2 serial ports. I found several old serial port
connectors and tried to connect and use them on the A7N8X-E. They
connected just fine but the second port is never recognized. As far
as I know serial port pin-outs have not changed in the last 10 years.
Looking at BIOS the 2nd serial port even has the right address. I see
no reason it shouldn't work. Any ideas?

Has UART2 been set to IR by mistake?

A7N8X Deluxe was supplied with an additional serial port that worked, but
not the A7N8X-E Deluxe, shame...

You could go with USB-to-Serial adaptors. Works very well for me and
does not need so many resources (IRQ etc...).

or
http://www.serialio.com/products/adaptors/usb_serial.htm
or
simply google for additional offers.
