.ASF file trouble

I just purchased a digital video camera that takes MPEG4
video as .ASF files. When I try to split them in Movie
Maker 2, it gives me a error: "Unknown Error Occured".
Any ideas how I can make these files work in MM2?

I tried a program called ASFtools. It gives me an error
simalar to this: "Invalid ID: 115D00, Chunk #15" about
300 times.
