i'm trying to upgrade from windows 98 to a retail xp home edition cd. i
have clicked on "install" from the splash screen, there is no spyware or
antivirus running
This is the Blocking Issues i get when i try to install:
"Setup found some issues that will prevent you from upgrading your Windows
installation. You must fix all of these issues before you can upgrade to
Windows XP.
Installation Requirements
Other Operating Systems Found
You cannot upgrade this Windows installation to Windows XP, because you have
more than one operating system installed on your computer. Upgrading one
operating system can cause problems with files shared by the other operating
system, and is therefore not permitted."
i have followed article #883392 on the troubleshooting page on microsoft.com
with no results. also followed all steps requested by Microsofts tier 1
support.
