Archive to Password Protected PST

C

Coy

When my account tries to archive to a password protected
PST file, I receive the following:

Error while archiving folder "Calendar" in
store "Mailbox - XXXXXXXXXXX". Cannot open the
destination store "C:\archive.pst". Is it password
protected? This version of Outlook doesn't support
archiving to password protected archive stores.

What version of Outlook supports this?

We have Outlook 2000. I can open the data file. The
problem is when I have set the password on the data file
(including checking the Remember My Password box) and the
archive feature runs (automatically runs every 2 days) it
can't move the files to the password protected pst.

Is this also the case when you access the pst-file at least once during your
Outlook session before AutoArchive runs?

No. I have the PST file in my folder list to the left.
I archive my files off and then have it for a reference.
It may have to do with what version of Outlook I am
running.

Version isn't an issue since you are using Outlook 2002. As long as you
haven't accessed the pst-file yet during an Outlook session the password
hasn't been passed on to Outlook yet. When you don't tick the option to
store the password for the pst-file you'll also get prompted for the
password on first access of the folder and not when you open Outlook.
