Applying different template to existing presentation

I have a presentation that I need to apply a different design template. A
custom template for our company. I apply the desgin template by opening the
new template and the presentation in slide sorter view.I arrange the window
and drag the old presentation onto the new template. However, some of the
fonts are still the colour of the old presentation and as well as the graph
colours. Is there a way to apply the font colours and everything else at the
same time or do I have to go into each slide and change what the template
didn't apply. I am using Powerpoint 2003.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes and No (don't you hate that answer).
1) Go to FORMAT >> SLIDE DESIGN, find your template and click APPLY TO
ALL/SELECTION (depending on your needs)
2) Go to FORMAT >> SLIDE LAYOUT and slide by slide choose the proper layout
and click REAPPLY LAYOUT. The first time a slide layout is changed it
changes the background and moves all of the text into the master slide
positioning. Often a second time is needed to change the fonts to the the
master slide formatting (ie. color, size, line spacing, etc.)
3) Note: this only works for elements that are on the master slide text
boxes, so often some manual editing is needed.

The charts will need to be changed individually. If the text was created in
placeholders, the color would change when the template is applied. I suspect
that you created text boxes with the text tool, in which case you'll need to
change the colors manually.
