Apply new template to old presentation

I have anew templte that was created in 2007. I need to apply it to old
presentations created in 2003. I have created a blank.pot but everytime I
try to apply the new template to the old presentation the master silde
disapears. The old master slide ends up being on the new template on a
normal page. Can anyone tell me why? This is what I am doing:
opening the old presentation
view>master>master slide
format>slide design
Apply new mater
select my new template form the design slide

Except for the master vanishing it works

Any help is appreaciated.

thanks

Why don't you create the new template, save it, then apply it to the old
presentation? That way, if you're not doing everything all at once to the
same file, you can maybe see where in the process you're tripping up.

Which version of PPT are you working in?

Thanks Echo. I am creating a new template and trying to apply it to the old
presentation. I am working in 2003. The template was originally created in
2007, I saved it as a new templete using 200. It saved fine and has the
master title on the template but when I apply it to the old presentation the
master dissapears.

Ah. I was confused about your versions.

Creating a template in 2007 and saving as 2003 format or applying in 2003 is
really a recipe for losing your title masters. I don't think anything really
unusual is happening, to tell you the truth. You may need to open the file
in 2003 and create a title master there.
