"Apply Actions" doe's NOT seem to work!

Hi All
Just installed Windows Defender and the installation went without a
hitch. The problem is that when I sign on to AOL I get the pop up requesting
me to make the change in WD to have it accept AOL as a program that has not
been recognized (or something to that effect). I make the change, click,"apply
action" and get then get "succeeded". I then PROPERLY (SAVE) close the
window. AOL continues to bring up the window asking for me to do the SAME
thing AND my previous entries(apply action, and save) put me right back to
where I started....they are GONE, AND the change NEVER shows up in the
section of WD that is supposed to show what you have ALLOWED, AT ANY TIME.
The ONLY way I can get AOL to work without the pop up is to NOT check the
option on the set up page in WD that asks if you want it to accept programs
that HAVE NOT been recognized. I had similar problems with Beta 1 and
eventually just removed the program completely. I was hoping that these
things would be corrected in Beta 2,but by the looks of some of the post's
many problems remain. Unlike some others,I personally like the new simplified
layout,BUT obviously many problems remain. With so many properly operating
programs commercially available that do the same thing as WD,it's hard to
understand why Microsoft is having such a hard time with this one. ANY help
would be greatly appreciated !!! THANKS, Radioguy

PS........This computer is using factory installed XP
with service pack2 and all updates are kept up to date. It is a Dell 4700
3.2gig Pentium 4, 160 gig HD, 1gig of RAM and it runs like a champ

I second this compaint. The AOL "change" happens at boot time and whenever I
load or unload AOL. There seems to be no way of saving changes permanently
so as not to be notified of them again. MS Anti-Spyware had a check box for
"always allow"...can we have it back?
