When I click on Word, Excel or other microsoft office app,
i get a message that it is not available, then system
loads it anyway when I hit "cancel". the first msg
is "loading program". Then it interrupts to say not
available, put in disc. I then hit cancel, and get a
couple of more error message, and whenI cancel, the
program loads.

I have removed and reinstalled from the office disc, but
the same thing happens.

How do I solve?

Did you install Office from your own CD, or was it pre-installed on this
machine.

Sounds like you are not running as local administrator or does not have
access to the original source of the Office installation, and you're using
some non-critical advertised feature that was "Install on First use" -- so
MSI comes up and tries to install it... but fails.

The problem isn't with Word, Excel, etc (that's why when you cancel out of
everything, they still work). The problem is that you're now trying to use
some MSI-advertised feature that wasn't originally installed, and MSI cannot
access the original install source to install it for you. You'll need to
either make the install succeed, or turn off the "Install on First use"
setting on the component, to get this to stop. This is basically your
configuration issue since you are using advertised features but deny the
install program access to the original install source.
