Application windows losing focus

We have new XP machines running several different
applications. When the user is running "app A"...the pc
loses focus when the user prints from the application or
for no other reason.

Any thoughts?

To prevent applications from stealing the focus from the window you are
working

1.. Start Regedit

2.. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop

3.. Edit the key ForegroundLockTimeout

4.. Give it a value of 00030d40

Is it necessary for the user to reboot after making this
change? Or should it take affect upon exiting Regedit? The
reason I'm asking is...I made the change and the
application still loses focus. However, I didn't reboot
the machine.
