Application Failed to Initialize Properly (0xc0000034) - Resolved

Download Sysinternal’s tiny 200kb “Filemon v7.02†and install. Start Filemon
and try opening problem program(s) via icon button. Receive the (0xc0000034)
error and close error window. Then stop Filemon from monitoring. Search
Filemon process’s for attempt at opening problem program. Review results.

I found that the Gdiplus.dll file was “Not Found†at the end of the folder
path:
C:\Windows\WinSxs\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Gdiplus_6595b64144ccfldf_1.0.2600.2180_x-ww_522f9f82\
. So I located a recent version of this file on my hard drive and copied it
to the end of the folder string.

BINGO! All 6 of my problem video editing programs, including Windows Media
Player 10, are now working. Microsoft owes me 85 hours of my time.

Application Failed to initialize properly (0xc0000034)

Hi there.
Thanks for your procedure. But i think mine is a different kind, i don't think so my friend. My MS Applications, Yahoo messenger as well is not working. I tried to use System restore but still, the problem still there. Is the anyway to solve it without reformatting or re-installing my OS?

Thanks in advance. please post you suggestions and help.

Application failed to initialize error oxcooooo34
I cannot use my office 2007 programs like word, excel and pwrpoint. I have tried to reinstall office and still get the same error. Feels like something has been deleted! When I searched for filemon, apparently it does not exist anymore and the new process mon has taken over. What do I do with process mon? HELP pls :(

We can certainly send you this folder if you tell us how old is this
thread that you managed to find it. Are you the same Vijay who has
variously claimed to be an expert in Google products and posting spam
everywhere they allow you do so?

The original poster in that thread, answered their own question.
Basically, there are multiple gdiplus.dll files, and I can see
at least a half dozen on my machine. The "Kim" person here,
advocates copying a modern version of gdiplus.dll into the folder
to take its place.

If you had absolutely no gdiplus.dll files, there is a version
3102.1360 available here.

gdiplus.dll had a security issue, where specially crafted JPEG
files could be used to plant malware. A possible reason for
removing an older gdiplus.dll, would be to replace it with one
where the exploit was patched. But maybe some other tool that VJ
was using, deleted the file rather than leave the vulnerability
present.

I find it hard to believe, that copying some arbitrary DLL into
there is going to work, but that's the claim by the original
author of the thread.
