APPLICATION FAILED TO INITALIZE-TURBOTAX

G

Guest

I HAVE USED TURBOTAX SINCE 2001 AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL NOW.
EACH TIME I ATTEMPT TO OPEN, I RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:
"Application failed to initalize properly (Oxc0000006)" I TRIED RUNNING MY
2004 PROGRAM ON ANOTHER COMPUTER WITH NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. IT APPEARS TO
ME THAT IT MUST BE A WINDONS XP PROBLEM.

ANY HELP, COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS, ETC. WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Backup your files created with TurboTax, then uninstall the
program, then reinstall the program.

How come everything but the error message is in all caps?
Wow - that hurts.

Have you contacted Intuit?
Have you checked the Intuit web page for FAQs or Updates?
Have you uninstalled/reinstalled the application?
Was it working on Windows XP before?
Why does it "appear to you to be a Windows XP problem"?
When was the last time you updated/patched Windows XP?
Have you tried uninstalling the last patch?
When was the last time you checked for updates for your other software
applications from their manufacturer's web pages?
When was the last time you checked for hardware drivers for your system?
When was the last time you checked for Spyware/Adware/Malware on your
computer?
What about Viruses/Trojans/Worms?
When was the last time you went into Control Panels --> Add/Remove Programs
and checked to make sure only what you wanted/needed was installed and that
you had the installation media and serial numbers/CD Keys for each of those
applications?
When was the last time you backed up your files(documents, pictures, emails,
contacts, spreadsheets, databases, etc?)
When was the last time you checked your hard disk drive(s) for errors?
When was the last time you defragmented your hard disk drive(s)?
