Application error

On closing down IE6 after visiting some websites from a desktop shortcut
e.g. www.weather.com, I receive a message
"The instruction at "0x1001cd11" referenced at "0x1001cd11". The memory
could not be read. Does anyone know of a cure for this?

(Microsoft, Norton, Trend Micro, Spybot and Adaware do not show up any
nasties).

Hi Neil,
Try to clear your caches and do the following
Go to Tooks >> Internet Options >> Advanced Tab scroll down until you find
the deader Browsing and uncheck the Box called * Enable 3rd Party Browser
Extensions* box.
Look on the Manage Add-Ons on the Tools and select Manage Add-Ons and see if
there a suspecious Toolbar Disable it and refresh and try the website again.
Try this link it is for W2K

Thanks. If I disable the Google toolbar, it cures the problem. It has
something to do with popups; with the toolbar enabled, if I close the IE
window before blockers kick in, I don't get the message. However,
disabling both Google and Microsoft popup blockers does not cure the
problem.

I have still to check some of the other entries in the add-on list.

Hi Niel,
Uninstall Google toolbar which causing the trouble and set up the POP Ups
Blocker to medium and see if that helps and other Add-Ons which not MS but
installed by Third party software.
Good luck
