Application Error

Hi~
I have just started seeing a new application error message:

msimn.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x77fe2bd1" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The
memory could not be "read".

Click OK to terminate the program.

What does this pertain to? Am I going to have problems with an application?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

When does the error occur? When windows starts? After you open or exit
Internet Explorer or Outlook Express? Some have solved similiar errors by
creating a new identity in OE mail and tranfering all the folders from the
old account to the new. Some were solved by removing google toolbar from IE.

It only happens whe I reboot my computer. The message shows up once and not
again until I reboot.

I had turned off email scanning with Norton Internet Security 2005 a week ago
but the message just started three days ago.

My email scan is off but I still get the error message sporadically. Now it
only shows up once in a while after I shut down OE. Any ideas?

Ramesh,

Thank you - I did turn off the automatic compaction, so I'll see what
happens next time I exit. However, my new concern has to do with compacting
OE email. Recently, I had experienced the "lost email" problem OE has and was
never able to retrieve any of the 300 emails from my professor. The link you
sent me suggests compacting often, but I am leary of this function. Any
advice?

Hi,

I compact the messages very often, and no problems here. And BTW, I use a
reliable Outlook Express backup program, and create backups frequently.

Genie-Soft - Outlook Express Backup- Download:

Note a freeware, but a wonderful program to buy.
