Application error when opening MSPicture It! Photo 2002

Hi,
I tried opening up Microsoft Picture It Photo 2002 and
got a error message saying:
"pip.exe - Application error
The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application."
Clicking OK is the only option anyway.
Although I have rarely used Picture It, I have never had
any trouble before. I've never seen this message before
when trying to open any other program on my computer
either.
Does anyone now how to fix this so I can open the program.
Please help.
