App window will not Restore to size. Cascade doesn't work either

I like to run all my apps cascaded in one way or another, I don't like
maximized windows because I switch back and forth between windows a lot.
Suddenly, my Dreamweaver window won't open except as Maximized. Clicking the
restore button makes it disappear from the desktop. the taskbar icon is
still there but Restore is greyed out. Bring to Font from Task
Manager/Applications doesn't make it appear either and Cascade for it is
greyed out there too. I've shut down Dreamweaver twice, no help. Rebooted
twice too.
It's just Dreamweaver, all the other apps are fine. I can't find any help on
this from Dreamweaver, and in any case it seems to be more of a windows type
question., how it's interfacing with Dreamweaver as a DMI.

I've had this problem with Quicken a couple of times. Here's how to
solve it:

1. Get Dreamweaver to not be maximized. You can use the Restore
setting, click on the Maximize button or double-click the title bar.

2. Right-click the Dreamweaver icon on the task bar and then type "M"
for Move.

3. Use the arrow keys to move left or down. Once you start using
the arrow keys the mouse will work, and you can use the mouse to
move the window into view.

4. If that didn't work, window is probably set to a 0x0 size.
Right click on the icon again, but this time, type "S" for Size.
Use the arrow keys, then the mouse as before to resize it.

It's aligned off-screen. Right-click the Taskbar, click
"Cascade Windows" to bring it back into view.

Thanks Ken. You're definitely in the ballpark. But it's still not working. I
have been getting the black and white "move" quadruple arrow mouse pointer,
just off the top left of my screen, When I click Move or Size from the
taskbar icon while window is Restored but invisible. And the left and right
arrows do make it visible. I can even "drag" that pointer with the mouse -
IF I DON'T CLICK. But all I'm dragging is the pointer, there's no window
attached, and as soon as I click, with or without dragging, the pointer
changes back to the basic white arrow.

The icon shortcut properties says "Normal window" for Run.

P.S. I found this in the Dreamweaver Knowlegebase:
----------
Customizing workspace layouts
Dreamweaver lets you customize the workspace layout, including which panels
are in the specified layout, as well as other attributes such as the
positions and sizes of the panels, their collapsed or expanded states, the
position and size of the application window, and the position and size of the
Document window.

The workspace layout is specified in XML files stored in the
Configuration/Workspace layouts folder. The following sections describe the
syntax of the XML tags. Optional attributes are marked in the attribute lists
with curly braces ({}); all attributes not marked with curly braces are
required.
-----------
And:
-------
<application>
Description: Specifies the application window's initial position and
size.
Attributes: rect, maximize
• rect specifies the position and size of the application window. The
string is in the form "left top right bottom" specified as integers.
• maximize is a Boolean value: true if the application window
should be maximized on startup; false otherwise. The default value is true.
-----------
But I don't have a /Workspace layouts sub folder under Configuration! And I
don't see how this could have been changed either. I've been using this DW
(MX) for about seven years.

As I mentioned, Cascade doesn't work in Task Manager - it's greyed out - and
Cascade only appears in the Taskbar when there's more than one window open in
the same app - e.g. two browser windows, or a Find window under the app ...

Hey, wait, that might do it!

YES! I opened a Find window in DW while it was maximized and then I was
able to click Cascade in the taskbar, and both windows appeared! SUCCESS!

Thanks, Elmo! Thanks, Ken!
