AOL instant messenger

I have downloaded the latest version of IM and when I run
the program it gives me an error message. It says that
aim.exe will be shutdown by Windows. An error log will be
created. There was nothing wrong with the install or the
download. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this?

Check your application event logs? Have you tried uninstalling and
reinstalling? Got local admin rights?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several
times. I do have admin rights on my machine. I am not
sure where the event logs are, but will look and try to
find them tonight.
