What web url, or ports do I need to shutdown to block AOL IM from running?
I know that bloacking AOL will keep someone from downloading the program,
but it wont stop them from using it if they already have the program.

Thanks

As best I understand it, you'll need to block all outgoing traffic from
your network.

Thank you AOL.

It will attempt to connect on outgoing port 5190... however, if you do
block that, it'll just try a different port. It will try ftp, nntp,
http, etc. until it finds a port it can use.

Your best effort would be to block any IP addresses that belong to AOL,
which is a good thing to do anyways.

Amen to that!

Nonsense! If it is the AOL software itself, you can turn off the instant
messenger part. If it is the AIM (stand alone IM), you can turn that off
on Windows start as well. Amateurs, geez!
