Aol dialer wacko!!!

Keep getting:
Aoldial.exe-entry_point_not_found (or Aol.exe)
"?SetModeTBlockCipher@xprt@@QAEXW4ECipherMode@12@@Z could not be located in
the dynamic library xprt5.dll"

Had been also getting somthing like:
Aoldial dll error
"xprt5.dll could not be found in dynamic library"

Have done everything including de-re-installing(2-3 times) all new AOL
software, all Beta editions, and deleting folders as well as anything with
"AOL" in it, and sent to recycler, cleared caches and all temps, disk clean,
and defragmented, as well as virus/spyware/ad-aware and CC Cleaner to no
avail.
Also attempted system restore several times and last good configuration and
even XP icon and other fixes/patches and PnP options.
Aol chat has given standard rebuild adapter and re configure and rebuild and
delete options, again to no avail.
Everything works as normal as expected, but dialer will not allow to connect
IE only (it's subtabs do not function properly) except for about 2 seconds
with modem, and then disconnects.
Any ideas?

First, this has nothing to do with Windows XP.

Second, anyone foolish enough to put anything to do with AOL on their
computer deserves what they get.

Thanks for your response.
I only would have posted here thinking that it did have something to to with
XP since I had a recent upgrade about a month and a half ago. Being a novice
about computers in general, (you don't know what you don't know)I thought
that DLL's and dynamic link issues were related to XP Home Edition.
I was expecting and thought that someone may lead me in the right direction,
not necessarily critique what software or service someone could afford.
In any case thanks.

DLL's are installed by apps as well. AOL is the single most malicious piece
of software ever written. There are better, cheaper alternatives out there.

After doing a back-up, I'm not sure which one it was but it wasn't AOL, I
installed AOL Beta ACS 4.6 Connectivity application/program as a last resort,
and my dialer problem dissappeared. Will still be looking to replace
ISP-thanks for your assistance.

Thanks Xavier. I ran into the same issue after installing the latest AIM
software (Triton Suite) last thursday to support their Free lnternet
phone\Vmail service. I'll try the ACS 4.6.

I too will be going DSL or Cable within a month or so and then my family can
use the FREE AOL service\Email Addresses which can be accessed without the
AOL SW. Just browse to AOL.COM with IE or whatever browser you like. FYI.

Thanks again for posting back your resoloution.

Your wlecome "Abracadabra." It's good to know that shared thoughts can help
others and they are appreciative. The funny thing is that it seems like
ancient history since I now am on the SBC/Yahoo DSL and man, what a
difference! I got that $12.99 special for a year before it expired, and it's
great-I recommend. Have a nice Sunday and rest week/month/year.

Your welcome "Abracadabra." Try the SBC/Yahoo DSL-just switched and it's 100
times faster. It's nice to know your thoughts were not in vain and are
appreciated. Have good one!
