AOE2 and MW4 startup crashes

Tried reinstalling MW4 and AOE2 Gold recently cause I felt like playing them. Haven't installed since I upgraded to XP Pro, and am now getting an error everytime I try to start a game.

In both AOE2 and MW4 the game will load to the first "loading" screen, then will crash out, with an error box basically stating that it encountered an error and needs to close, no more information then that.

I've tried disabling the second monitor(I run 2 vidcards/monitors), starting up in all of the compatability modes, updated XP, reinstalled DX9b, checked the database troubleshooting database here, and Updating the vidcard drivers. I'm out of ideas atm.

Been fiendin either one of these games of late, and have NO idea what's up with them at present.
