Anyone know anything about this great-sounding flash player?

F

Super Flash Player .exe file, converting flash file to flash
screensaver and capturing flash pictures as wallpaper. So Super Flash
Player is not only a easy-to-use flash player but also a flash
collecter,a flash screensaver maker,a wallpaper maker and a flash .exe
file maker."
http://www.webmasterfree.com/software/MediaTools/MultimediaPlayers/super_flash_player_manager.html

The reason I'm coming to the group is because it's an app I'm
researching for friends/family, too. It sounds just too good to be
true, somehow <g>.

I'm also going to hopefully be able to use it myself for converting
flash to exe (for use with Wink. All the tutorials I'll be able to
share more easily via email in this way to my friends).

Plus it does all those other things supposedly, so it sounds great.

But I don't want to recommend something to them and then to find out
later it's spyware, esp. after they've dl and installed it <g>. So
was wondering if anyone had heard anything about it, good or bad, or
who has tried it and found it safe.

Thanks so much in advance!

The actual website is here:

http://www.achensoft.com/products/flashplayer/

and it's shareware (costs $29.95):

"All these tools are distributed as Shareware, you can freely download
and try it . If you find it useful and decide to keep it over
evaluation period, you should pay the registration fee.You can
download the files either from this site or other sites suggested
below and select the one good for you."

Since it looks like the program keeps functioning after the trial
period expires, it's probably considered by the people at the link you
provided to be free. However, the main site wants you to purchase it.

Rats. Well, off to look for other freeware SWF2EXE. Trouble is,
there doesn't seem to be anything out there. Pickins were very slim
(only 3 hits) in the archives of this ng.

Converting SWF to standalone EXE files. Not for general distribution
but to just send to friends/family.

The SWF files created with Wink, tutorial-making freeware.

IIRC Powerbullet can do this: http://powerbullet.com/

"Powerbullet Presenter is now free. Download the installer and begin
creating your own business presentations, multimedia slide-shows or
electronic brochures.

* Totally free. Unrestricted use. No time limit. It is not
adware, spyware etc.
* File size: 2.2MB
* System requirements: Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP
* Additional requirements: Internet Explorer 5.5 or
greater installed
* Minimum PC configuration: Pentium with 32MB RAM"

Cool! Even mentions "Wink" on the downloads page as a "handy companion
to Powerbullet".

Although there are those who will object to the third requirement,
most Windows users have it installed.

Sure does but after a whole lot of time looking at the help file and
then searching through the forum, I can't figure out how to do this.
I dl v1.366 first, as it said.

Do you, by any chance, know how to do the conversion? I can't even
figure out how to play the swf file. And I've joined so many forums
in last 2 months, I can't face joining yet another one.

Appreciate any help since you or someone else might already know how
to do this.

Thanks.

You may want to change your thinking since exe file extensions can cause
ISP mail servers and anti-virus programs to take measures to remove such
attachments.

How about swf2avi

http://www.pizzinini.net/?category=8&item=37&language=en

http://www.webattack.com/get/swf2avi.html

"swf2avi allows you to convert Flash movies into AVI videos or a series
of BMP images. In addition, you can select a sequence of BMP or JPG files
and convert them into an AVI video. swf2avi can be used for batch
processing from the command line.

Mmm, not sure, as I stopped using it a while ago, I think you have to use
the export function. But I do know when you create a file with Wink you can
save it as an .exe, wasn't that what you wanted in the first place ?

I just zip files that ISP's don't like, as I found that most ISP's don't
have problems with zip-files.

Hello Rod:

Yes, you could do this but you are now adding another level that the
operator must perform. I believe that fitwell is trying to make it as
simple as possible since the people that he is sending the information to
are not that computer suave.

If they were computer suave, he could ask them to install a flash player
and then they could open the file with that player.

That sounds logical, maybe the first exe he creates should show how to
install a flash player :)

Geez, better believe that they're not computer suave! The complete
opposite! It constantly surprises me how much I have to teach
friends/family, I'd even call it one level BELOW basic. It's getting
to be a really frustrating thing. Thank god I found Wink! Last
episode was teaching a friend some really, really basic stuff for TWO
HOURS only to have her run into same problem within a week (she
thought is was a different problem, but it's not). Can you guys
imagine the frustration!!! I'm at the point where I'd start giving up
on helping anyone.

But Wink has come along in the nick of time. <sigh>

SWF2AVI is no good because I lose flash functionality which is the
whole power behind Wink flash-based tutorials. With one friend, I was
able to set IE as the app to open SWF and will send an AVI tutorial on
how to do that with other friends/family, if they're so inclined to do
that. It's a question of letting everyone have options.

In the cases of friends/family, EXEs are a moot point. I'm sending it
to them directly and will be coaching them on proper procedures.

I _will_ be looking to get another free webpage service where I can ul
these tutorials to. I prefer for them to have the files on their
system, but having both means that I'll cover all angles. But that's
a ways away. I've got too much on my plate to worry about that at
this time.

Thanks all!
