Anyone know anything about FileServeManager ?

It's a free application, that promises it contains no adware,
spyware etc, and allows download recovery from the Fileserve site,
also no waiting for downloads.

I've scanned it with malwarebytes, clamav, avira, unpacked it
(it installs browser add-ons, browser helpers, links to other site,
and GNW else)
I'm tempted to use it.
But I can't figure out why they build something that extracts
no information from you at all, if their homepage is full of ads. And
why it's so big, 44 Megs unpacked, surely a download manager should be
much smaller ...?
Input anyone ?

Seems like it includes half the Win OS and all of Firefox! Well, I see
things like MS C++ and Mozilla run-time libraries amongst other stuff.
Most of this will not be needed since an updated OS will already have
current versions of these DLLs. You won't know what's really there
until you filter out the standard redistributables, find the BHOs and
what-not that's pertinent to "Fileserve" and do some analysis on them.

As I said, in view of your comment: "it installs browser add-ons,
browser helpers, links to other site, and GNW else", I don't know why
you'd want to install this junk.

Because it would save time downloading stuff. But I hoped
someone out there would analyse it first. If it's malware,
malwarebytes or spybot should detect it as such. They don't.
